Germantown High School’s chapter of the Science National Honor Society is raising funds for Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis. This project started in 2015, when the club sponsor realized that parents lacked comfortable rocking chairs to care for their babies while at the hospital. Members raised money through collaboration with Holiday Ham and donations from students and faculty members to provide funds for 27 rocking chairs and other items. The sponsor and officers of the Society were invited to take pictures with workers at the hospital to honor and show appreciation for the rocking chairs donated.
This year, with the need for rocking chairs fulfilled, fundraising will focus on lullaby CDS, strollers, high-chairs, etc.
