The Wolf River Conservancy hosted it's 12th annual tree planting this past Saturday, with sponsors ranging from FedEx and International Paper, the gold level sponsors Brother International and Crawford-Howard Private Foundation, and bronze level sponsors Indian Community Fund for Greater Memphis, The Memphis Garden Club and The Little Garden Club. Announcements were made and a planting demonstration was given to ensure that the plants were planted correctly. Coffee, water, snacks and pizza were given free of charge for those volunteers, thanks to the Wolf River Conservancy.
Over 250 people including many Germantown High School students have participated in this event and were given gloves and a shovels for the planting. Everyone had a great time helping out and for the the Germantown High School students that participated, this event counted as a project for National Science Honor Society as well as a Beta Club and Key Club project.
