Germantown High School offers a variety of career and technical courses designed to help students excel in whatever they may choose to do: whether that be a field requiring a university degree, or one requiring a technical college certification. Over the next few days, we’ll be highlighting several of these courses.
Law Enforcement Services prepares students for a range of careers in law enforcement, crime scene analysis, forensic science, public safety, and criminal justice. Course content emphasizes procedures and laws governing the application of justice in the United States, from constitutional rights to crisis scenario management to the elements of criminal investigations. Upon completion of this POS, students will be equipped with strong knowledge and skill preparation for postsecondary or career opportunities in many law- and justice-related fields.
Nationally there is a 5 percent increase expected in employment as Police officers, 5 percent for bailiffs, 5 percent for correctional officers and jailers, 12 percent for security guards and gaming surveillance officers. The numbers are higher for Tennessee.
