I like Kyle going to Germantown High School because it allows him the opportunity to tap into his creative side. Between plays, musicals, designing sets and GHS TV, it keeps him busy and gives him focus.
He has learned so many different things with these programs, and has hopes of continuing these programs in college. Before becoming involved with the Arts program at GHS, he was not interested in college at all. Now, he has applied to several schools that offer theater programs and communications programs.
GHS has boosted his self confidence and allowed him to make friends across the city with opportunities dealing with the Orpheum. He has won several awards from the High School Musical Awards and within his peer group.
Being so involved in GHS TV and theater, it has held him accountable to dress for success and held him to deadlines. It gave him a taste of the real world. They apply just enough pressure on them to get the kids to realize how realistic and professional they not only need to be, but must be in order to make projects run like a well oiled machine.
I’m very thankful for the teachers, directors and programs. It gave him a drive towards something to work hard for. It gave him a drive for his future.
