From April 16th until May 4th, we will be doing state testing (see the exact dates for each test here). These tests will be 15% of your final grade, so to help you do your absolute best, we'll be brining you various pieces of advice from teachers over the coming days.
Here is today's advice: "All EOCs and TNReady tests this year are on the computer. If you're not used to typing quickly, start practicing now. It's not enough to know how to type on a keyboard, you have to be able to do it quickly because the tests are timed and your English tests will include essays. You can practice by typing up your homework when possible, emailing friends rather than texting for a few weeks (using a desktop or laptop, since the feel of a phone is different), or you can Google and find websites that help you build your typing speed. It's old school, but if you and your friends get skype or some sort of instant messaging program on your computers and chat that way rather than texting, you'll get much faster. That's how I got so quick at typing. When I was in high school texting wasn't around, so we talked with instant messaging and had to type everything on the computer. I got real fast real quick."
