Over the next few days, we'll be doing a countdown to graduation, and featuring the student whose class rank is the same as the number of days until graduation.
Today's student, Mahmoud Ajjaoui, is ranked #48 out of 492. Here's what he has to say.
"I remember the first day of high school at Germantown High as if it were yesterday. The first day of school was awkward and everybody was shy. I remember just trying to rush to my classes so I wouldn’t be late. Once I had my schedule memorized and could easily navigate the school, my schedule was changed and some of my classes changed periods. As I was new to the schedule change, I was still remembering my old schedule as I was switching classes. I was trying to walk to third period which was replaced by another class and moved to later in the day. I ended up going to the original class from the old schedule before I realized I was in the wrong class. I left and the bell had just rung so I was definitely late. By accident I had left through one of the back entrances of the buildings and had to run around the whole school to get to the right class. I had to walk in 5 minutes late and the look on all the students' faces was hilarious. The teacher was wondering where I had been so I told her what happened and she just laughed it off."
