My name is Ms. Gerst and I teach Visual Arts in the International Baccalaureate Program. The most important piece of advice I can give students taking Visual Arts is keep up! Don't procrastinate! Good art takes a long time, so you must practice your patience and keep working. If something happens that you do not like, don't trash and restart, instead figure out a way to incorporate this mistake into your work and make it appear purposeful. Often, students struggle because they procrastinate and wait until the last minute to finish either an art project or a written assignment, but if you use the class calendar and set goals along the way, you can be much more successful.
