My name is Ms. Shughart and I teach RTI Math (Enrichment). The most important piece of advice I can give students is to focus during your learning time to get the most out of it. Often, students struggle because they aren't used to concentrated lessons and want to chat with peers and don't complete enough time or the lesson, but if you stay on task, you can be much more successful.
This is a new year and every single student has a chance to make this the best year yet. So, don’t forget: Usually, in every class, the teacher builds in "down time" for you to speak with your friends. By staying on task during the lesson, you will help the teacher be able to give you more time to 'relax' because you will accomplish your lessons faster and more accurately. Teachers don't enjoy constantly fussing at you. Do what they ask from day one and I promise you will be happy with how teachers respond.
